The Holy Land - Extended Tour

Day 1, London/Nazareth

Depart UK on our direct flight to Tel Aviv. Upon arrival at Ben Gurion airport, your guide and coach will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. Occupy rooms and dinner at the hotel.

Day 2, Nazareth/Tiberias/Capernaum/Tabgha

Leave the hotel and drive along Jordan Valley and proceed to the River Jordan, we then renew our Baptismal Vows and afterwards drive to Tiberias for boat sailing on the Sea of Galilee (in an ancient reproduction boat). The boat takes us from Tiberias to near Capernaum and we tour here; we view St Peter’s Church and the remains of the ancient Synagogue in which Jesus used to teach. We view other ancient remains here. We also visit the Mt of Beatitudes and admire the incredible view of the Sea of Galilee. We proceed to St Peter’s Primacy, where Christ appeared to the Apostles after His resurrection, Mass here. Then we drive to the Multiplication Shrine, where Jesus multiplied a few fish and 5 loaves to feed 5,000. Return to hotel.

Day 3, Nazareth/Tiberias/Mt Tabor/Mt Carmel

We drive to the summit of Mt Tabor, taxis up the mountain (included), tour of the Basilica of the Transfiguration and Mass here. We then proceed to Acre and visit here. Proceed to Mt Carmel – (Haifa), Basilica of Our Lady Star of the Sea – Carmelite Headquarters. We now return to our hotel for evening meal and overnight.

Day 4, Nazareth/Cana/Bethlehem

Today we visit the imposing Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth, viewing the Grotto where the Annunciation took place (Mass here). We tour the Upper Basilica, (the finest Church in the Middle East). We will then visit St Joseph’s Workshop, Synagogue of Jesus and Mary’s Well. We now drive to Cana, visiting the Church of the Wedding - renewal of Marriage Vows here! (one can if desired, buy Cana Wine in a local shop). We will make a short visit to Jacob’s Well before we proceed to Bethlehem and check-in to our hotel.

Day 5, Bethlehem/Shepherd's Field

Depart for Manger Square about 8.30 am, (to avoid huge crowds), visit the Grotto of the Nativity - where Jesus was born. Mass in St Joseph’s Grotto, Franciscan Church of the Nativity and afterwards the Milk Grotto - and visit the Museum of the Miracles. Local bus to Shepherd’s field, visit Grottos there and visit Chapel above - where the angels first sang the ‘Gloria in excelcis Deo’ on the night of the first Christmas. Shopping in Bethlehem before we return to our hotel.

Day 6, Jerusalem, Old City

Coach to Jerusalem arrive in Damascus Gate proceed to Basilica of Ecce Homo, visit Pilate’s Court, Crowning with Thorns and the Condemnation Chapels. Then we have the Stations of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa. The first Stations starts in Pilate’s Courts and ends in the Holy Sepulchre Basilica (a Cross is available to carry if desired). We continue our guided tour here and we visit Mt Calvary, the Holy Tomb of the Resurrection, St Mary Magdalene’s Shrine, Blessed Sacrament Chapel and the True Cross. Mass will be arranged in one of the chapels here. Lunch break then return to our hotel

Day 7, Jerusalem/Ein Karem

Depart for Jerusalem and visit the Wailing wall (the holiest place for Jews). We walk to St Peter in Gallicantu - a truly incredible Shrine and see the dungeon where Jesus was imprisoned after His mock trial on Maundy Thursday night. Proceed to Ein Karem to the Visitation Shrine, Mass here then on to the Birthplace of St John the Baptist. Return to our hotel for dinner.

Day 8, Jerusalem, Mt of Olives/Bethlehem

Coach to the summit of the Mt of Olives, Jerusalem; visit Ascension Dome, Pater Noster Grotto, walk to Dominus Flevit (where Jesus wept over Jerusalem), Mass here. Afterwards we proceed to Gethsemane Garden and Basilica and the Grotto. Visit the Assumption Church. Lunch and then free for shopping. Return to our hotel.

Day 9, Jericho/Masada/Dead Sea/Bethany

Proceed to Jericho, and view the Mt of Temptation from across the valley. We view Zacchaeus Sycamore tree and then a refreshment stop. This is followed by an optional visit to Masada Fortress (entrance fees not included) followed by a lunch break. We then proceed to the Dead Sea for the floating experience and relaxation. Proceed to Qumran and then continue to Bethany for Mass and visit this shrine. Return to our hotel.

Day 10, Bethlehem/London

After breakfast, we leave Bethlehem for the airport and our flight back home.
