The Holy Land and Jordan

Day 1, London/Nazareth

Depart UK direct to Tel Aviv. Upon arrival coach transfer to our 3 star hotel in Nazareth and dinner here.

Day 2, Tiberias/Capernaum/River Jordan

Depart hotel for sailing on the Sea of Galilee from Tiberias to Capernaum (in an ancient reproduction boat) and tour here; we also visit Mt of Beatitudes, St Peter’s Primacy (Mass here) where Christ appeared to the Apostles after His Resurrection; we will also visit Multiplication Shrine - the Church of the Feeding of the 5,000. We now travel to the River Jordan for renewal of Baptismal Vows. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3, Nazareth/Cana

Visit the Basilica of the Annunciation viewing the Grotto where the Annunciation took place. We celebrate Mass and tour this Basilica - the finest Church in the Middle East - that dominates the skyline of Nazareth. View the Grotto where the Annunciation took place; visit St Joseph’s Workshop and the site of the home of Our Lady and St Joseph and finally visit the Synagogue of Jesus. Proceed to Cana, visiting Church of the Wedding - renewal of Marriage Vows here! One can purchase Cana wine to take home with you if desired. Continue on to our hotel in Bethlehem. Dinner at the hotel

Day 4, Bethlehem/Shepherd’s Field

Depart for Manger Square at 8:00am., Mass in St Catherine’s Church followed by tour in the basilica visiting St Joseph’s Grotto, Franciscan Church of the Nativity and the Grotto of the Nativity - where Jesus was born, and afterwards the Milk Grotto and visit the Museum of the Miracles. Local bus to Shepherd’s field, visit Grottos there and visit Chapel above - where the angels first sang the ‘Gloria in Excelcis Deo’ on the night of the first Christmas. We will have a chance to do some shopping before we return to the hotel for our evening dinner.

Day 5, Jerusalem

Early departure to Jerusalem and to the Old City (St Stephen’s Gate) and walk to St Anne’s church where Our Lady was born, and the Pool of Bethesda. Proceed to the church of Ecce Homo, built on the site of the Palace of Pilate, visit Crowning with Thorns and Condemnation Chapels followed by the Stations of the Cross along Via Dolorosa following the route Our Lord walked on the first Good Friday. We will take turns to carry a cross here changing at every station (optional), and finish in the Holy Sepulchre Basilica - the holiest place on earth. We celebrate Mass in the Chapel of Apparition. Afterwards visit Mt Calvary, the Holy Tomb of Jesus, St Mary Magdalene’s Shrine and Grotto of the True Cross. and continue on to visit the Upper Room and the Tomb of King David; the magnificent Dormition Abbey where Our Lady was assumed to heaven. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 6, Jerusalem/Bethany/Dead Sea/Mount of Olives

Coach to the summit of Mt of Olives and visit the Ascension Dome; Pater Noster where Our Lord taught His Prayer - Our Father; Dominus Flevit where Jesus wept when He foresaw the Destruction of the City of Jerusalem; Gethsemane where the Agony in the Garden took place. We celebrate Mass in the Grotto of Betrayal. We will then travel to Bethany to visit St Lazarus’ Church. Lunch in Qumran. Proceed to the Dead Sea to experience floating in the sea.

Day 7, Ein Karem/Jerusalem

Drive to Jerusalem and visit Western (Wailing) Wall - the Holiest place for Jews which is part of the remaining wall around the temple that was destroyed in AD70. Walk up to Mt Zion and visit the beautiful Shrine of St Peter’s in Gallicantu - a truly incredible Shrine (Peter denied Jesus three times), where we see the dungeon that Jesus was imprisoned in after His mock trial on Maundy Thursday night. Lunch then drive to Ein Karem to visit the church of Visitation to Our Lady and we celebrate Mass here and onto the birthplace of St John the Baptist. Drive to Mt of Olives to the church of All Nations for the Holy Hour. Return to hotel for dinner.

Day 8, Jordan

Leave Bethlehem and travel across the border via the Allenby Bridge into Jordan. We visit Mt Nebo - where Moses saw the promised land then onto Madaba visiting various Holy Sites such as Moses Spring, The church of the Apostles and The church of St John the Baptist. Continue our journey down south to Petra ‘the red city’ listed as a WORLD UNESCO HERITAGE SITE. Check-in to our hotel and overnight here.

Day 9, Petra/Bethlehem

After breakfast we leave the hotel to visit the most magnificent and impressive ancient city of Petra, where we see the fascinating spectacle of temples, tombs and monuments. Lunch in a local restaurant. Drive back to Bethlehem. Dinner and overnight here.

Day 10, Bethlehem/UK

Free time before we depart for our flight back to London.
